It could probably be punched up a little more but, the first is more of a COAS mission satement, the second is more of a Blueline Approach statement:
Question Critically. Think Logically. Communicate Clearly. Act Creatively. Live Ethically. This series explores a very particular set of skills, skills you acquire when you get a degree from the College of Arts and Sciences. We spoke to over 20 faculty, students, alumni, and staff to find proof that these skills are indeed integral in preparing students for life after college in today’s world. With the rise of globalization, technological advances or imagining different ways of conducting work, jobs that we can’t even imagine or we can’t even name right now will be brand new in a few short years – and others obsolete. A degree from the College of Arts and Sciences will arm you with the skills you need to navigate your future because while times will change, skills are forever.
Blueline was tasked with helping Indiana University’s College of Arts and Sciences ‘prove’ that liberals arts was the future. We focused our series on five essential skills they are promoting as tools their graduates use to navigate an uncertain future economy: Question Critically, Think Logically, Communicate Clearly, Act Creatively, Live Ethically. We spoke to over 20 faculty, students, alumni, and staff to find proof that these skills do in fact result in successful careers and translate to future dreams – then remapped their insights into a whimsical studio world to allow viewers to encounter the value of a liberal arts degree in a different way.
